GOALS & PURPOSE: 

To assist the Celebrant and Deacon(s) during the Mass.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Altar Servers assist the Celebrant at daily, weekly, or special Masses. A server’s responsibility includes setting up for Mass, clearing the Sanctuary after Mass, and the normal duties of a server during the Mass.

HELPFUL ATTRIBUTES:  

Youth, Grades 4-12 and have received First Communion are eligible to serve.  

TIME COMMITMENT:  

Must arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled Mass and serve the duration of the Mass, Altar Servers have mandatory meetings throughout the year, as announced in the bulletin.  

TRAINING REQUIREMENT:  

Parish training is provided.  

SCHEDULE:  

A monthly schedule is posted in the Sacristy can be received via postal service or e-mail.

An Altar Server’s Prayer

Loving Father, you call your people to worship, to be with you and one another at Mass. I thank you for having called me to assist others in their prayer to you. May I be worthy of the trust placed in me and through my example and service bring others closer to you. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ who is Lord forever and ever.  Amen
